Bal d'Afrique Absolu is a citrus-woody unisex fragrance introduced by Byredo in 2025 as a richer version of the classic Bal d'Afrique. The opening combines blackcurrant, bergamot and lemon, praline, musk and violet fill the heart, and black amber, cedarwood and vetiver hold the base. Compared with the original it is sweeter and darker with an animalic depth — better in cooler weather and for evening wear. Longevity exceeds the standard version. Byredo is a Swedish niche house founded by Ben Gorham in Stockholm in 2006.
