Fahrenheit is a leather-woody men's fragrance from Dior, released in 1988 and one of the most unusual and recognisable fragrances in perfumery history. The opening combines nutmeg flower, lavender, cedar, mandarin, chamomile, bergamot, hawthorn and lemon; violet leaf, nutmeg, sandalwood, carnation, honeysuckle and jasmine build the heart; and leather, vetiver, musk, amber, patchouli and tonka bean hold the base. It pairs a petrol-like leather with violet greenness — a scent people either love or reject outright. Longevity is strong.
